OSSA's Tuition Position

OSSA's Political Committee advocates predictable, fair, and reasonable tuition increases for Out-of-State students and suggests other methods of income in place of sizable increases. Currently, out-of-state students pay $18,104 in tuition and fees. This figure indicates an $1,150 increase since the 2005-2006 academic year.

In order to discourage future increases of that magnitude, the Political Committee seeks to continue successful missions from the previous year. The Committee will hold a second tuition awareness campaign, which includes writing letters to Chancellor Moeser, along with a continuation of the influential tuition petition started last spring. The Committee hopes to hold the Board of Trustees accountable to the tuition predictability clause it enacted in the spring of 2006.

2006 U.S. Midterm Elections: Absentee Voting

OSSA wants to encourage students to perform their civic duty by taking part in the electoral process this November in the highly important mid-term elections. Out-of-state students may vote in their home districts by applying to receive an absentee ballot. Each state has its own rules for the absentee voting process.
