President's message

Dear Out of Staters,

Welcome to Chapel Hill, “the Southern Part of Heaven”!

You all made a fabulous decision to attend UNC and I can guarantee your experiences here will live up to your greatest expectations. Since all of us are away from home, most for the first time, the Out-of-State Student Association is here to help you get acclimated to the Carolina Family.

We are a student-run organization whose sole mission is to serve you. We offer a variety of social and volunteer activities throughout the year, along with special services available only to OSSA members. These include airport shuttles, ice cream socials, monthly volunteer activities, and the ever-popular Bojangles nights. In addition to these opportunities, we serve as the Out-of-State voice during the annual tuition process.

Carolina is a wonderful place, and these 4 years have the potential to be the best of your life. So read the DTH in the quad, eat brunch at Ramshead, shop on Franklin St., and cheer loudly for our Tar Heels! Take advantage of your time here, and let OSSA do everything we can to help you. If you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas, please feel free to contact me (asav626 [at] email [dot] unc [dot] edu) or any other cabinet member.

GO HEELS!

Alison Savignano (Brockton, MA)
OSSA President 2008-2009
